KATHMANDU: BYD has announced a major milestone in autonomous driving, becoming the first automaker in the world to achieve smart parking technology comparable to Level 4 automation.

The announcement was made through the company’s official Weibo account, according to a Chinese news agency.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer shared that its “God’s Eye” smart parking system allows drivers to completely step back from the parking process.

Once activated, the system can park the car without the driver needing to use their hands, eyes, or even pay attention—similar to the capabilities of Level 4 autonomous driving under specific conditions.

BYD’s strong commitment to its customers makes this announcement even more meaningful. The company has assured that in China, it will take full responsibility for any safety issues or vehicle damage that may happen while using the “God’s Eye” system.

For any losses involving vehicles using the “God’s Eye” smart driving system, users won’t need to go through the hassle of insurance claims. Instead, they can directly contact BYD’s after-sales service for support.

This move highlights BYD’s growing focus on advanced smart driving technologies, as global competition in the electric and autonomous vehicle market continues to rise.
