Changan’s mini car Lumin EV goes on sale at Rs 2.299 million

KATHMANDU: Chinese automaker Changan’s mini car, the Lumin EV, is now available in Nepal.

MAW Vriddhi, the authorized distributor of Changan in Nepal, formally launched the Lumin EV on the opening day of NADA Auto Show in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The car has been priced at Rs 2.299 million.

The Lumin EV is powered by a 35 kW motor and 28.08 kWh CATL battery which offers a claimed range of up to 301 km when fully charged, according to the company. The car also support DC fast charging and can be topped up from 30% to 80% in just 35 minutes.

The Lumin EV competes with MG Comet and Kaiyi e-Qute 02, among other models, in the Nepali market.

Built on the EPA0 Pure Electric Platform, the two-door Lumin comfortably seats four passengers. It measures 3,270 mm in length, 1,700 mm in width and 1,545 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,980 mm. Its relatively wide body compared to other mini cars provides greater comfort for passengers.

Inside, the Lumin EV features an attractive and modern interior with a three-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen, reverse camera, mobile phone connectivity and voice control, among other high-tech features.

The Lumin EV competes with MG Comet and Kaiyi e-Qute 02, among other models, in the Nepali market.
