KATHMANDU: Ultraviolette Tesseract, a high-tech electric scooter with car-like features, is set to debut in the Nepali market.
Kedia Organization, the authorized distributor of Ultraviolette two-wheelers in Nepal, plans to unveil the scooter in the upcoming auto show.
According to Nawaraj Koirala, the Business Head of Kedia Organization, the scooter garnered over 50,000 bookings in India in just two weeks. “We are excited to launch this model in the domestic market,” he added.
The scooter, however, will not be immediately available for purchase given the overwhelming demand in India. However, Kedia Organization plans to start the sale in Nepal once demand stabilizes in India.
Launched in India at 145,000 Indian rupees (ex-showroom), with an introductory price of 120,000 Indian rupees for the first 20,000 buyers, the Tesseract boasts a combat helicopter-inspired design and a spacious 34-liter under-seat storage. It includes several high-end features rarely seen in two-wheelers like front and rear radars, blind spot detection, overtake alerts, a dash-cam, a 7-inch TFT display, navigation, floating DRLs, dual LED projectors, wireless smartphone charging, dual-channel ABS and traction control.
Powered by a 15 kW electric motor, the Tesseract achieves a top speed of 125 km/h, accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and offers a claimed range of 261 km on a single charge.
Given its premium features and performance, the Tesseract is certain to set a new standard for electric scooters in Nepal upon its launch.
