Hyundai Creta records best-ever annual sales in 2025

KATHMANDU: Hyundai Motor India has reported the Creta’s highest-ever annual sales in 2025, with over 200,000 units sold during the year. This equals an average of around 550 units per day.

The Creta remains the best-selling midsize SUV in India, holding a market share of more than 34 percent. The year 2025 also marked 10 years since the model’s introduction, with the SUV posting a compound annual growth rate of over 9 percent between 2016 and 2025.

According to Hyundai, the share of first-time buyers rose from 13 percent in 2020 to 32 percent in 2025. Sunroof-equipped variants accounted for more than 70 percent of total sales, while diesel versions made up 44 percent of overall volumes.

The Hyundai Creta is offered with multiple powertrain options, including a 1.5-liter petrol, a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, IVT, 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed automatic.

In India, the Creta competes with 13 models in the 4.2- to 4.4-meter midsize SUV segment.

In Nepal, both ICE and electric versions of the Creta are available. Laxmi Intercontinental assembles the petrol Creta locally, while the Creta EV is imported from India and sold in the Nepali market.
