KATHMANDU: Hyundai has unveiled the first design sketches of its upcoming model, the Bayon, giving an early look at what to expect from the new offering. Built around Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy, the Bayon is being positioned as an “Intelligent Utility Vehicle.”
The front exterior sketch shows an upright SUV-like stance, featuring a sculpted hood, pronounced fenders, and Hyundai’s signature H-Edge lighting setup. The interior sketches, meanwhile, showcase a modern cabin with textured surfaces and a large driver information display that stretches across the center console.
Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Design Center at Hyundai Motor Company, said the brand wanted the Bayon to leave a confident first impression as it makes its way into new markets. He noted that the goal was to build an Intelligent Utility Vehicle where thoughtful design and smart technology come together to suit modern urban lifestyles.
He further added that the combination of a high-tech interior with a rugged exterior, highlighted by the sculpted hood, bold fender lines, and distinctive H-Edge lighting, gives the Bayon a strong, capable, and distinctly modern character.
In India, the Bayon is expected to slot in between the Venue and the Creta, with a launch planned for this festive season.
