KATHMANDU: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced a major investment plan of around USD 5.4 billion through FY2030. The company shared its future roadmap for India during its first-ever Investor Day.

Under the plan, Hyundai will launch 26 new models by FY2030, including 7 all-new nameplates, an MPV and an off-road SUV. The company aims to achieve a 15% market share and reach revenue of around USD 12 billion.

By then, SUVs are expected to make up 80% of Hyundai’s total sales, while eco-friendly models such as EVs, hybrids and CNG vehicles will account for 50% of its portfolio.

By 2027, Hyundai will introduce India’s first locally manufactured dedicated electric SUV. The launch will mark a key milestone for the brand as it strengthens its presence in the country’s fast-growing EV segment.

The company will also introduce its luxury brand Genesis in India by 2027.

Genesis is Hyundai’s luxury division, offering premium cars known for elegant design, comfort and advanced features. The brand was launched in 2015.

Hyundai further plans to make India a global export hub, targeting up to 30% export contribution.

By the end of this decade, India is expected to become Hyundai’s second-largest market globally.
