KATHMANDU: Hyundai Motor Group has launched its advanced hybrid powertrain system, which promises up to 45% better mileage compared to its predecessor. Along with better fuel efficiency, the new system offers enhanced power output, smoother ride quality and innovative features designed to elevate the driving experience.

At the core of this hybrid system are two electric motors, named P1 and P2, that work together to boost efficiency and performance. The P1 motor serves multiple functions, including engine ignition, supplemental power delivery and battery charging support, while the P2 motor directly propels the wheels while enabling regenerative braking which helps recharge the battery by converting braking force into battery power. When used together, these motors provide quicker acceleration, smooth gear transitions, and reduced operational noise and vibration.

According to the South Korean automaker, the new system incorporates several intelligent features to optimize performance. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology transforms the automobile into a mobile power source, while Steady Mode ensures consistent performance across diverse driving conditions and regenerative braking ensures greater energy efficiency.

Designed for flexibility, the new hybrid system integrates with Hyundai’s existing internal combustion platforms. With a power output ranging from 100 to 300 PS, the technology is suitable for various vehicle classes, from compact cars to full-size SUVs and trucks.

In addition to this hybrid system, Hyundai has introduced supporting innovations including an electric all-wheel-drive (eAWD) system featuring a rear-mounted motor for superior traction, and the Electric Vehicle Management Control (eVMC 2.0) system which improves manages torque distribution to enhance both handling precision and ride comfort.

With these innovations, Hyundai aims to lead the way in fuel-efficient, performance-focused transportation solutions further underscoring its commitment to sustainable mobility.
