KATHMANDU: Mahindra’s official dealer in Nepal, Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd., has launched a service center operated entirely by women in Swayambhu, Kathmandu.
The facility employs around half a dozen female technicians and was introduced following the launch of Mahindra’s electric SUVs, the BE 6 and XEV 9e. The center focuses on servicing modern electric vehicles.
From vehicle intake and washing to technical repairs, all operational roles at the service center are handled by women. Female staff are also responsible for parts management and accounts.
Agni says the initiative reflects the changing skill requirements of EV technology and the company’s effort to create inclusive employment opportunities in the automotive service sector.
While it is too early to assess long-term service performance, the company states that the center is fully equipped to meet Mahindra’s service standards. During a visit, employees were observed to be confident and well-trained in their respective roles.
The women-run service center is expected to contribute to broader participation of women in Nepal’s automotive industry.
