KATHMANDU: Mahindra has launched the updated XUV 7XO in India, with prices starting at 1.366 million Indian rupees (ex-showroom). The SUV is a renamed and revised version of the XUV700. Introductory prices apply to the first 40,000 units, and bookings will open on January 14.

The XUV 7XO competes in the mid-size SUV segment against the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.

In terms of design, the SUV gets a refreshed front with a new grille and redesigned LED headlamps featuring C-shaped LED DRLs. It also comes with new alloy wheels, while the rear features connected LED taillights and a revised bumper.

Inside, the XUV 7XO features a new two-tone cabin inspired by the XEV 9e. Key highlights include a triple-screen layout, a 2-spoke steering wheel, and touch-based climate controls. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats with powered Boss Mode, and wireless charging.

The SUV continues with the same engine options as before. These include a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and a 2.0-liter diesel engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. AWD will be offered on higher variants. Mahindra says the revised suspension setup improves ride quality.

On the safety front, the XUV 7XO gets a 540-degree camera system and Level 2 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking.

Prices for the Mahindra XUV 7XO range from 1.366 million Indian rupees to 2.247 million Indian rupees (ex-showroom).
