KATHMANDU: Maruti Suzuki has launched its first electric SUV, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, in India at an introductory price of 1.099 million Indian rupees (ex-showroom).
The price is offered under a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, where battery usage is charged at Rs 3.99 per km. The carmaker has not yet announced variant-wise pricing. The SUV is available in three variants: Delta, Zeta and Alpha.
The e Vitara comes with two battery options. The Delta variant gets a 49 kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 440 km. It produces 142 BHP and 193 Nm of torque. The battery can be charged in 6.5 hours using a 7.4 kW AC charger and in 45 minutes with a DC fast charger.
The Zeta and Alpha variants are equipped with a larger 61 kWh battery pack, delivering a maximum range of 543 km. This version produces 172 BHP and 193 Nm of torque. The 61 kWh battery takes 9 hours to charge with a 7.4 kW AC charger and 45 minutes with DC fast charging.

The SUV measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,640 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Its design is based on the eVX concept. It features Y-shaped LED DRLs, LED headlamps, sleek LED taillights and squared wheel arches with body cladding. The e Vitara rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and comes with disc brakes on all four wheels.
Inside, the cabin has a two-tone layout with dual screens and a 2-spoke steering wheel. The floating center console houses the drive mode selector and electronic parking brake. Key features include automatic climate control with rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, a sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger and ADAS.
Maruti Suzuki is offering an 8-year or 1,60,000 km battery warranty, 60% assured buyback after three years, a complimentary home charger with installation and free charging for one year.
Maruti Suzuki showcased the eVitara at the NADA Auto Show in Nepal in August 2025. In Nepal, the SUV will be available through CG MotoCorp.
