KATHMANDU: Indian electric motorcycle manufacturer Ultraviolette has launched the updated X-47 Venom with a new 100V electric architecture, larger battery options and improved performance. The electric motorcycle is priced from 265,000 Indian rupees in India.

The Bengaluru-based company has introduced its new VX-100 architecture with the X-47 Venom as the first model to use the technology. The update brings a longer claimed range, higher top speed and lower weight.

The updated X-47 Venom gets an 11 kWh battery pack with 20% higher energy density and twice the cooling performance, according to Ultraviolette. This version offers a claimed Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) range of 343 km, up from 323 km.

The lower variants use a 7.5 kWh battery pack and offer a claimed range of 227 km. The previous entry-level battery capacity was 7.1 kWh.

The electric motorcycle is powered by a new 30 kW motor that produces 550 Nm of torque at the wheel. It has a claimed top speed of 155 km/h.

Ultraviolette says the bike can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 2.7 seconds and reach 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.

The motorcycle also gets a new motor control unit that is half the size of the previous unit while delivering three times the power density. A pyro-fuse can disconnect the electrical circuit within microseconds if a critical fault is detected.

The X-47 Venom is up to 20 kg lighter than its predecessor. The 7.5 kWh variants weigh 180 kg, while the 11 kWh variants weigh 195 kg.

The X-47+ and X-47 Recon+ variants feature a 1.6 kW onboard charger. The motorcycle also supports 12 kW fast charging.

Other features include a 7-inch TFT display and cruise control. The bike retains its integrated rear radar and front and rear dash-cams.

These systems support blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, overtake alerts and rear-collision warnings.

There are no major styling changes. However, the updated model gets new color options, revised graphics and fresh shades for its 17-inch alloy wheels.

The updated X-47 Venom is available at introductory ex-showroom prices ranging from 265,000 Indian rupees to 399,000 Indian rupees in India.
