KATHMANDU: TVS Motor’s premium electric scooter, the TVS X, is set to enter the Nepali market soon. Jagdamba Motors, the authorized distributor of TVS in Nepal, has begun preparations to introduce the model as its second electric scooter offering.
According to company sources, the TVS X is currently undergoing road testing across different parts of Nepal. Sales are expected to begin after the testing phase is completed. However, the company has not yet announced an official launch date.
Positioned in the premium electric scooter segment, the TVS X was first unveiled globally in August 2023. The launch event was held at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, marking TVS Motor’s entry into a more technology-focused EV category.
The scooter comes with a 12.2-inch tiltable TFT display and offers several advanced features. These include cruise control, reverse assist, smart connectivity, live video streaming, onboard games, a web browser, live location sharing, keyless operation, LED headlamp, and an anti-theft alarm.
Powering the TVS X is an electric motor with a peak output of 11 kW. It can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 2.6 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 105 km/h.
The scooter is equipped with a 4.44 kWh battery pack. TVS claims a riding range of up to 140 km on a single charge. It also supports regenerative braking and fast charging.
Pricing for the Nepali market is yet to be disclosed.
