KATHMANDU: KEREN electric scooters are now available with a minimum down payment of just Rs 5,000 under a new financing scheme introduced by Evoque Nepal, the authorized distributor for the brand in Nepal.

The scheme has been launched in collaboration with Himalayan Bank, allowing customers to purchase electric scooters with significantly lower upfront cost, despite the central bank’s general requirement of at least 40 percent down payment on vehicle purchases.

Under this offer, customers can buy KEREN Blaze and KEREN SRT 5 Pro models with a minimum initial payment of Rs 5,000. The Blaze is priced at Rs 219,000, while the SRT 5 Pro is available at Rs 249,000.

The remaining amount will be financed by Himalayan Bank’s Sorakhutte branch. Customers can repay the loan over a period of up to three years through monthly installments at an interest rate of 6.99 percent.

The bank will provide the loan via a credit card system. Buyers will receive a credit limit equivalent to the loan amount, and the monthly EMI will be deducted directly from the card. Customers are required to deposit the installment amount into the card each month. The entire loan and EMI process will follow the bank’s standard procedures.

To apply for financing, customers must submit proof of income along with documents such as citizenship, national ID, driving license, and photographs. For corporate buyers, company registration documents, tax clearance, and audit reports are required. The bank also offers loan options under collateral-based terms, subject to conditions.

Both KEREN Blaze and SRT 5 Pro are equipped with a 72V 35Ah graphene battery, offering a claimed range of up to 120 km on a full charge. The scooters feature a K-Tech Dilhub motor and CBS braking system.

In terms of performance, the Blaze has a top speed of 65 km/h, while the SRT 5 Pro can exceed 70 km/h. Both models come with traction control, reverse mode, and slope hold assist, while the Pro variant also includes cruise control.
