KATHMANDU: SAIC’s MG brand unveiled the MG 07 at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show. The sedan is offered in seven variants, with prices ranging from $16,000 to $23,500.
The PHEV version is available in two variants, while the EV comes in five versions. Deliveries of the 650 km-range EV models are scheduled to begin by the end of August, while the 845 km versions will arrive in October.
The MG 07 features a modern design with a full-width light bar, uniquely styled headlights and a clamshell hood. It also gets a 168-liter front trunk.
The sedan measures 4,886 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,478 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm.
Other exterior features include frameless doors, semi-hidden door handles, two-tone wheels, yellow brake calipers and a full-width rear light bar. It also gets a five-stage adjustable electric rear spoiler.
Inside, the MG 07 gets a wraparound cockpit with a full-LCD instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen. The system is powered by the Qualcomm 8295P cockpit chip and MG’s Inspiration OS.
Higher-end versions come with LiDAR-based driver assistance technology. Other features include a heated and ventilated driver’s seat, a zero-gravity passenger seat, panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated rear seats and a 21-speaker audio system.
The sedan also gets mCDC active electromagnetic suspension.
The MG 07 EV is based on an 800V architecture and uses a front-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor. Depending on the variant, it produces 176 kW (236 hp) or 235 kW (315 hp).
Two battery options are available, with capacities of 67 kWh and 91 kWh. The EV offers CLTC driving ranges of 610 km, 650 km and 845 km, depending on the variant.
The PHEV combines a 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 82 kW (110 hp) with a 152 kW (204 hp) electric motor. It offers a 245 km pure-electric range and a combined CLTC range of up to 1,745 km.
The PHEV has a claimed fuel consumption of 2.91 liters per 100 km when the battery is depleted.
The two 610 km-range EV variants use semi-solid batteries supplied by QingTao, while the other EV and PHEV versions use CATL batteries.
