KATHMANDU: Ather Energy has filed a design patent for a new electric scooter based on its modular EL platform in India.

The patented design closely resembles the EL01 concept that Ather showcased during its Community Day 2025 event. The upcoming model is expected to be positioned as a practical and family-oriented electric scooter.

The scooter features a clean and simple design. It gets a U-shaped LED DRL on the front apron, while the headlamp is neatly integrated into the handlebar fairing. The design also includes a flat footboard and a wide, flat seat, indicating a focus on comfort and daily usability.

Ather’s new EL platform has been developed to be versatile and cost-efficient. The company plans to introduce multiple models based on this platform. The first EL-based electric scooter is expected to be launched next year in India.
