KATHMANDU: BYD has reaffirmed its plans to roll out its God’s Eye advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) across its entire vehicle lineup. The update was shared with investors on December 30, 2025, according to Chinese media reports.
The company said the move is part of its “National Smart Driving” strategy. The goal is to speed up the adoption of assisted driving technology and make it available in affordable, mass-market models, not just premium vehicles.
BYD said the rollout is supported by China’s largest vehicle cloud database, the world’s biggest EV engineering team, and its large-scale new energy vehicle production capacity. These factors allow wide deployment and continuous system improvement.
As of November 2025, more than 2.3 million BYD vehicles in China are equipped with God’s Eye. Around 311,000 units were sold in November alone. These vehicles generate over 150 million kilometers of assisted-driving data every day, helping BYD refine its algorithms without changing hardware.
God’s Eye uses a multi-tier system. Higher-spec versions are offered on premium models, while cost-optimized versions are used in entry-level and mid-range vehicles. This approach differs from many rivals that limit advanced ADAS to high-end cars.
Industry analysts say the wide installation base helps BYD collect large volumes of real-world driving data. This supports system validation and optimization.
However, analysts also note that BYD’s data scale is still smaller than Tesla’s global Full Self-Driving fleet, especially outside China.
BYD did not disclose detailed technical specifications or model-wise rollout timelines in the investor Q&A. The company focused instead on strategy, affordability, and mass adoption.
BYD has confirmed that its God’s Eye smart driving system will also be introduced in overseas markets, not only in China. However, rollout timelines will vary by country and model.
BYD has clarified that overseas versions may differ from those offered in China. Deployment will depend on local regulations, safety standards, and hardware availability, and some markets may initially receive limited ADAS features instead of the full God’s Eye suite.
In Nepal, BYD leads the NEV market. The rollout of God’s Eye features by Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor, will depend on model specifications.
