KATHMANDU: The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has announced that only BS6, CNG, LNG, and electric goods carriers will be allowed to enter Delhi from November 1, 2025.

The move aims to curb vehicular pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR).

As part of the transition, BS-IV light, medium, and heavy goods vehicles registered in Delhi will be permitted to operate until October 31, 2026.

After that, only cleaner and greener vehicles will be allowed entry.

Meanwhile, an earlier directive banning 10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol vehicles in NCR has been temporarily halted following a court order that prohibits coercive action against vehicle owners.

CAQM has also instructed district authorities in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and NCR regions of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to take legal action against officials failing to curb stubble burning, according to The Economic Times.
