Discounts galore at NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo

KATHMANDU: Automobile companies participating in the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo are offering aggressive cash discounts and other facilities to attract buyers.

Organized by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), the five-day expo will run until August 10. The expo saw over two dozen new vehicle launches on the opening day alone.

A fierce price war can be seen at the expo with participant brands offering significant discounts on both new and existing stock.

Nissan Leaf
Leading the pack in discount offerings is the electric Nissan Leaf SUV, which has seen a price cut of a whopping Rs 2 million. Pioneer Motocorp, Nissan’s official distributor in Nepal, has offered a massive discount to clear its existing stock. This has brought the price of the car to Rs 4.499 million from Rs 6.449 million. The saving of Rs 2 million can buy one a small hatchback! The Leaf is powered by a 40 kWh battery and 110 kW electric motor. It offers a range of up to 363 km, according to the company.

Zeekr X


Another car that has seen a massive price cut is Zeekr X. The electric SUV is now available for Rs 6.999 million, Rs 1.5 million less than its original price of Rs 8.499 million. The powerful rear-wheel-drive EV is equipped with a 200 kW motor and 66 kWh battery, and offers a WLTP-certified range of 440 km. It supports 11 kW AC and 150 kW DC fast charging.

Leapmotor B10
The Leapmotor B10 crossover SUV now comes with a Rs 1 million discount. Although the declared price of B10 is Rs 6 million, Shangrila Motors, the authorized Leapmotor distributor in Nepal, is offering the SUV at just Rs 4.999 million. The B10 is powered by a 160 kW motor paired with either a 67.1 kWh or a 56.2 kWh LFP battery.

Maxus MIFA 7 MPV
Himalayan Motrox has announced a Rs 1 million discount on the Maxus MIFA 7 MPV. With this, the price of the MIFA 7 has come down to Rs 11.5 million from Rs 12.5 million. The MPV is powered by a 180 kW motor and 90 kWh battery. It offers a WLTP-certified range of 635 km when fully charged.

Maxus eTerron 9
Customers can also avail a Rs 500,000 discount on another Maxus car, the eTerron 9. Launched recently in Nepal, the eTerron 9 is priced at Rs 10.999 million.

Hyundai
Laxmi Intercontinental, Hyundai’s official distributor, is offering up to Rs 800,000 discount on its models. Likewise, buyers will also get 1 year of free insurance, additional perks, and 3 years of warranty. Customers booking at the expo are also eligible for a trip to Vietnam for two and attractive gifts. Hyundai’s lineup in Nepal includes models like the Grand i10 Nios, Venue, Creta EV, Creta ICE, and Ioniq 5 EV.

Jaecoo J5
SPG Automobiles is offering a Rs 400,000 discount on the Jaecoo J5. This means the car, which costs Rs 6.099 million, is now available for Rs 5.699 million. The J5 features a 155 kW front-wheel motor, a 58 kWh LFP battery and 185mm ground clearance. It offers a range of around 400 km when fully charged.

Forthing Friday
Laxmi e-Mobility has reduced the price of the Forthing Friday luxury EV SUV by Rs 600,000. After the discount, the SUV is available for purchase at Rs 4.896 million. The car is powered by a 99 kW motor paired with a 64.4 kWh battery. It supports 11 kW AC charging and 80 kW DC charging. Buyers also get a 7.3 kW charger, an 8-year warranty, and 6 years of free service.

BYD Atto 1
BYD’s official distributor, Cimex Inc, is offering several perks for Atto 1 bookings during the expo. These include attractive cash discounts, 1 year free AutoPlus insurance, a free 3.3 kW portable charger, 10-year extended warranty and and 10 years of free app connectivity.

Other automakers have also introduced special cash discounts and exclusive offers during the expo period.
