KATHMANDU: KTM has officially launched the new global-spec version of its dual-purpose motorcycle—the 390 Enduro R—in India.
The Austrian brand unveiled the 390 Enduro R at the EICMA Auto Show 2024 in Milan, Italy. Nearly a year later, a more affordable India-specific variant was released. Now, the global-spec variant displayed at EICMA has hit the Indian market.
Built on a steel trellis main frame with a pressure die-cast aluminum subframe, the 390 Enduro R sports a typical enduro dual-sport design. Key features in the bike include slim bodywork, compact headlamp, raised front fender, long flat single-piece seat, tall single-piece handlebar, knuckle guards and a minimal rear design.
The motorcycle could be launched in Nepal during the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo in August.
The new variant features a 43mm WP Apex open cartridge fork with 230mm of travel at the front and a monoshock suspension setup at the rear — a step up from the 205mm suspension travel on the India-spec version. Likewise, the global-spect version has a higher ground clearance of 273mm. It also comes with block-pattern off-road tires, piston caliper disc brakes and a switchable ABS.
The bike is equipped with a 4.2-inch TFT console with features like turn-by-turn navigation, music and call control, LED lighting setup, charging port, traction control, multiple ride modes including off-road specific modes, and a launch control system.
The global-spec KTM 390 Enduro R is powered by a 399cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled LC4c engine tuned for low- and mid-range performance. The engine delivers 45 PS of peak power and 39 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox, slipper-assist clutch and a bi-directional quick-shifter.
In India, the bike is priced at 354,000 Indian rupees (ex-showroom), only 15,000 Indian rupees more than the base variant.
