KATHMANDU: Three Nepali travelers have started a 13-day road journey from Kathmandu to Kanyakumari and back in a Hyundai Tucson.

Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., the authorized Hyundai distributor in Nepal, shared that the team includes auto enthusiast Awashis Ojha, banker Bijay Kasaju, and Nepal-born U.S. resident Niraj Pokharel.

The trip runs from December 3 to December 15 and covers almost 8,000 kilometers. The team will drive long stretches each day, from 8 to 19 hours. They are using Mr. Kasaju’s Hyundai Tucson, a premium SUV known for its comfort and long-distance ability.

The Tucson is designed for mixed road conditions with all-wheel drive, good ground clearance, and a strong build. The cabin is spacious, and the ventilated seats help reduce fatigue during long drives. The team has also arranged a simple caravan-style resting setup in the rear seats for quick breaks on the move.

Such long road journeys reflect the growing adventure spirit among Nepali travelers and support cross-border tourism and cultural exchange.
