KATHMANDU: MG has started deliveries of the all-new MG4 Anxin Edition hatchback in China. The model is claimed to be the world’s first mass-produced passenger vehicle equipped with a liquid-solid state battery.
The MG4 Anxin Edition offers a CLTC driving range of 530 km. The electric hatchback is powered by a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor.
It produces 120 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 3 seconds, while the top speed is 160 km/h.

The Anxin Edition uses a 53.95 kWh manganese-based lithium-ion liquid-solid state battery. The battery has around 5 percent less liquid electrolyte compared to conventional lithium batteries.
It is available in five variants in China. Prices start from around USD 9,800, while the Anxin Edition is priced at about USD 14,600.
In terms of size, the MG4 measures 4,395 mm in length, 1,842 mm in width, and 1,551 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm and a curb weight of 1,500 kg.
Inside, the MG4 features a 15.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. It also gets a digital instrument cluster and a dual-layer center console. Boot space stands at 471 litres and can be expanded to 1,362 litres.

The car comes equipped with advanced driver assistance systems. These are supported by five cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars. The system enables highway navigation assist and parking assist functions.
