Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) is organizing the inaugural NAIMA Nepal Mobility Auto Expo 2025 at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition from August 5 to 9. Mero Auto caught up with Sirish Murarka, the coordinator of the event, to know about preparations, expected vehicle launches, offers, and logistical plans for the expo. Excerpts:

The Mobility Expo is being organized much ahead of the festive season. How do you view the challenges and opportunities?

I think the timing is actually ideal. The festive season is approaching, and customers usually need a month between booking and vehicle delivery. So hosting the expo in the first week of August fits perfectly. Moreover, dealers will also announce their Dashain schemes during the Mobility Expo which will help consumers make informed decisions. These are all positive aspects.

The only concern could be rainfall disrupting things. But we are fully prepared and it shouldn’t make any significant impact.

This will be the first auto expo in the country without the components (parts) section. How do you think visitors will take this?

This is actually tied to why there was a need to open this association. NAIMA was established to promote the interests of the motor vehicles and motorcycle sector. Visitors will get a chance to see around 50 automobile brands under one roof. Our stalls will be larger, and people can freely explore and gather all the information they need about the vehicles on display.

We plan to inform the media in advance about which brands are launching what models and when. I think we will see more than a dozen new models unveiled during the expo.

How many new models are expected to be launched during the expo?

We are currently in talks with the exhibiting brands. They will soon share details of their new launches. We plan to inform the media in advance about which brands are launching what models and when. I think we will see more than a dozen new models unveiled during the expo.

How are you addressing parking issues and managing the heat?

There won’t be any parking issues. We will release all the details shortly. As for the heat, I assume you are referring to how it will be managed inside the domes. We have made proper arrangements. Visitors won’t face any discomfort.

What about ticketing and entry management?

We have partnered with ‘Khalti by IME’ wallet as our ticketing partner. Tickets will be available online, and even those who come directly to the counter can buy tickets digitally. Likewise, we are setting up an online access system for the media as well. Overall, we are managing everything in an environmentally friendly and efficient manner.
