KATHMANDU: NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal has elected its new working committee unopposed. A 25-member working committee has been formed under the leadership of Surendra Kumar Upreti. The selection was finalized on Thursday.

Although the post of chairman was uncontested, nominations were filed for 17 member positions by 18 candidates. Following the withdrawal of one candidate, all members were elected unopposed.

Under the NADA statute, the working committee consists of 29 members. Of these, 25 have now been elected. The outgoing chairman will continue as an ex-officio member, while the remaining three members will be nominated later.

NADA’s 49th annual general meeting was held on December 24. The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, had earlier directed the association to conduct elections after the general meeting was called without an election schedule. NADA had subsequently announced January 9 as the election date.

With all working committee members elected unopposed, the scheduled election will no longer be held.
