KATHMANDU: Tata Motors’ latest electric SUV coupe, the Curvv EV, has successfully completed a landmark journey from Kathmandu to Kanyakumari, covering more than 6,700 km across Nepal and India.
To celebrate this achievement, Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of Tata Motors in Nepal hosted a special event on Monday at its Thapathali showroom. The program honored well known auto enthusiasts Awashis Prasad Ojha and Bijaya Ram Kashajoo, who completed the cross-border drive, dubbed the “K2K Drive.”
The journey began on World Environment Day June 6, 2025 from Tata’s Thapathali showroom in Kathmandu. After reaching India’s southernmost tip, Kanyakumari, the duo returned to their starting point, completing a full loop in the all-electric Curve EV.
Speaking at the event, Ojha shared his experience: “The Curvv EV made long-distance travel incredibly smooth. We encountered well-placed charging stations and good road conditions. The vehicle delivered a range of over 500 km in India and more than 375 km in Nepal, which was truly impressive.”
Kasju added, “This journey was more than just a road trip, it was a real-world test of what electric vehicles are capable of. The Curvv EV proved it’s ready for long-distance, cross-border travel.”
Sawant Jung Sijapati, General Manager of the Passenger Vehicle Division at Sipradi, called the achievement a milestone for electric mobility in Nepal. “There was a time when taking an EV outside Kathmandu felt uncertain. Now, with this K2K drive, we’ve shown that driving from Nepal to India in an electric vehicle is not only possible but it’s practical.”
The Tata Curvv EV recently launched in Nepal, bringing advanced features such as Level-2 ADAS, V2L technology, a panoramic sunroof and multiple safety enhancements.
Sipradi Trading emphasized its commitment to advancing electric mobility in Nepal by supporting reliable, tech-driven vehicles like the Curvv EV and encouraging initiatives that push the boundaries of what EVs can do.
