LS Auto opens showroom in Tinkune, unveils two new EV models

KATHMANDU: LS Auto, a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has formally entered the Nepali market with the opening of its first showroom in Kathmandu. The new facility is in Tinkune, right across from the airport cargo terminal.

The showroom was inaugurated on Tuesday by Bikash Saha, Managing Director of Nexon Ventures, the official distributor of LS Auto in Nepal, along with Andy Ju, Country Head of LS Auto. Spanning 150,000 square feet, the showroom aims to establish a strong brand presence in Nepal’s growing EV segment.

At the launch event, LS Auto unveiled its first EV model for the Nepali market, the LEV 01. Available in CE and SE variants, the LEV 01 features a 67.12 kWh battery and is powered by a 99 kW motor. The vehicle offers a range of up to 500 km on a single charge and comes with a ground clearance of 210 mm, aligning with Nepal’s diverse terrain.

Speaking at the event, Nexon Ventures General Manager Naveen Phuyal confirmed that LS Auto will introduce two new models next month during the Naima Nepal Mobility Expo. These include the LEV 05, a premium hatchback and the LEV X, a four-wheel-drive variant of the LEV 01.

To support its operations, LS Auto has also established a dedicated service center in Kalopul, Kathmandu and is planning to expand EV charging infrastructure nationwide.

LS Auto operates under Shanghai Launch Automotive Technology. The company currently manufactures EVs at its Jiangxi Province facility in China, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 units.

With a footprint in 11 international markets, including Nepal, UAE, Mauritius, Turkey, Egypt, Nigeria and Kazakhstan, LS Auto is expanding its global reach.
