KATHMANDU: MG Motor has launched the new MG Majestor in India with prices starting from 4.09 million Indian rupees for the Savvy 4×2 variant. The Savvy 4×4 variant is priced at 4.49 million Indian rupees .
The Majestor becomes MG’s new flagship SUV and rivals models like the Toyota Fortuner Legender, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian.
The SUV gets a bold and rugged design with a large black grille, vertically stacked headlamps, connected LED tail lamps and new 19-inch alloy wheels. Blacked-out exterior elements and chunky body cladding further add to its strong road presence.
Inside, the Majestor features an all-black premium cabin with soft-touch materials and a redesigned dashboard. Buyers can choose between 6-seat and 7-seat layouts.
Major features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, JBL audio system, dual wireless chargers, powered tailgate and 64-colour ambient lighting. The SUV also offers heated and massaging seats for the front row.
On the safety side, the Majestor comes with 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system and Level 2 ADAS features.
Power comes from a 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215 PS and 478.5 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. MG is offering both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options.
For off-road driving, the SUV gets 10 terrain modes, triple differential locks and water wading capacity of up to 810 mm.
GO Automobiles, the official importer and distributor of JSW MG Motor India vehicles in Nepal, is expected to launch the MG Majestor in the Nepali market.
