KATHMANDU: MAW Rides, the official distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Nepal, has brought the Yamaha XSR 155 to the domestic market. The neo-retro motorcycle is expected to be launched officially in the coming weeks.
The company has imported four variants of the XSR 155; BMC, VRC1, WMC, and SMX. It has also announced the indicative retail prices ahead of the official launch.
According to MAW Rides, the BMC variant is priced at Rs 529,900, VRC1 at Rs 539,900, WMC at Rs 549,900, and the top-spec SMX at Rs 559,900. The company said the prices could change at the time of the official launch.
While Yamaha has not confirmed the launch date, the XSR 155 is expected to make its public debut at the NADA Auto Show 2026.
The motorcycle went on sale in India around eight months ago after being introduced in several international markets. Nepal is now set to become one of the latest markets to receive the model.

Inspired by Yamaha’s global XSR lineup, the XSR 155 combines classic styling with modern design elements. It is built on the same platform as the Yamaha R15 and MT-15, sharing the same 155cc powertrain.
Designed for everyday riding, the motorcycle features a Deltabox frame, round LED headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, flat single-piece seat, 137 kg curb weight, 170 mm ground clearance, and a 10-liter fuel tank.
Power comes from a 155cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, SOHC, fuel-injected engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). The engine produces 18.4 PS of power and 14.2 Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch.
The XSR 155 is equipped with upside-down front forks, a rear monoshock suspension, disc brakes at both ends, dual-channel ABS, tubeless tires, and color-matched alloy wheels.
Feature highlights include a fully digital LCD instrument cluster with Y-Connect smartphone connectivity, call and SMS alerts, full LED lighting with DRLs, traction control, and an electric starter.
