KATHMANDU : Nissan’s newly unveiled premium SUV, the Nissan Tekton, is coming to Nepal. Pioneer Moto Corp, the authorized distributor of Nissan vehicles in Nepal, has confirmed that the SUV will make its local debut at the NAIMA Mobility Expo 2026, which opens on August 11.
The Nissan Tekton combines bold styling, premium features and modern technology. It is expected to strengthen Nissan’s SUV lineup in Nepal.
The SUV features a muscular design with sharp body lines and a commanding road presence. At the front, it gets connected LED DRLs with LED headlamps, while the bonnet carries prominent Tekton lettering. The rear also features connected LED taillights with Tekton badging across the tailgate. Its overall design appears to be inspired by Nissan’s flagship SUV.
Inside, the Tekton offers a three-tone dashboard, a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system. It also comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof.
The SUV supports more than 55 connected car features through Nissan’s smartphone app. These include remote engine start, remote AC operation, remote lock and unlock, remote horn and light control, vehicle status monitoring and the Find My Car function.
The Nissan Tekton is available with two turbo-petrol engine options. The 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine produces 100 PS and 166 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.4 km/l.
The 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine develops 163 PS and 280 Nm of torque. It is available with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission. The automatic version also gets paddle shifters and selectable drive modes.
On the safety front, the Tekton comes standard with six airbags across all variants. It also offers Level 2 ADAS, along with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control, brake assist, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front disc brakes, a rollover sensor, a high-tensile steel safety cage, side-impact protection beams and pedestrian protection features.
