Top five motorcycles by import volume in Nepal in 2025

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s motorcycle market showed signs of recovery in 2025 after a prolonged slowdown following the COVID-19 boom and a sharp decline in 2023. Import data indicates a gradual return to normal demand, led mainly by commuter and sports motorcycles.

According to customs records from January to December 15, 2025, motorcycles in the 125 cc to 350 cc range dominated imports. Entry-level, standard, and deluxe commuter models accounted for the largest volumes, while sports motorcycles were imported in regular and premium categories.

Here are the five most imported motorcycle models in Nepal in 2025:

Bajaj Pulsar 150

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 remained the most imported motorcycle in the Nepali market. Distributed by Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, the model recorded imports of 18,948 units during the year, maintaining its long-standing popularity.

Royal Enfield Classic 350

The premium segment secured second place with the Royal Enfield Classic 350. A total of 10,240 units were imported in 2025, reflecting strong demand for mid-capacity premium motorcycles.

Yamaha FZ series

Yamaha’s FZ series ranked third on the list. MAW Ride imported 8,318 units of the model, keeping it among the most consistent performers in the commuter-sport segment.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 F

The Bajaj Pulsar 220 F took fourth position with 7,808 units imported. The model continues to attract buyers due to its performance-oriented setup and wide acceptance in both urban and rural markets.

Honda SP 125

Honda’s commuter-focused SP 125 secured fifth place with 5,758 units imported in 2025. The model edged past the TVS Apache RTR 160, which recorded imports of 5,580 units, a difference of 178 units.
