KATHMANDU: Scooters in the 125cc segment have enjoyed massive success in Nepal, appealing to both male and female riders. Among the standout models in this segment is the Aprilia Storm 125 BS6, known for its sporty design, off-road capability and solid performance.
Inspired by Aprilia’s racing heritage, the Storm 125 features a bold, aggressive design and dual-purpose tires that make it suitable for city streets and light off-road trails. It is powered by a BS6-compliant 125cc engine that delivers 9.3 hp and 10.73 Nm of torque. It offers smooth and responsive acceleration between 4,000 and 7,000 RPM, making it ideal for everyday commuting.
With a 6-liter fuel tank and a mileage of 30 to 35 km per liter, the Storm 125 is fuel-efficient for its class. The upright handlebar, slightly elevated for a more ergonomic posture, helps reduce hand fatigue on longer rides. A well-cushioned seat and a capable suspension setup further enhance rider comfort.
The Storm 125 is equipped with telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, along with a front disc and rear drum brake setup, supported by a combined braking system (CBS). It also includes under-seat storage that can accommodate a half helmet and features a semi-digital instrument cluster.
However, the scooter lacks a few modern features such as an engine kill switch, side-stand sensor and LED DRLs, instead using a traditional halogen lighting setup. Despite these limitations, it remains a strong contender in its segment.
Priced at Rs 278,900, the scooter is distributed in Nepal by Delta AutoCorp. The company is also offering various promotional schemes to attract buyers.
With its distinctive style, capable performance and rugged character, the Storm 125 BS6 is a versatile option for riders looking for a scooter that handles both daily commutes and occasional off-road adventures with ease.
