KATHMANDU: MAW Vriddhi, the authorized distributor of Chinese automobile giant Changan in Nepal, is preparing to introduce a new SUV from Deepal in the Nepali market.

Produced and marketed in China as Nevo Q05, Changan plans to distribute the compact electric SUV under Deepal brand in Nepal. However, the product’s name for the Nepali market has not been finalized yet.

MAW Vriddhi launched the S07, the first Deepal offering in Nepal, in March last year. Following its success, it launched the Deepal S05 which has quickly captured the interest of Nepali buyers. First showcased at the NADA Auto Show 2025, the S05 is manufactured in Thailand. With price starting from Rs 4.899 million, the S05 has attracted buyers with its luxury features, modern cabin and striking design.

Produced and marketed in China as Nevo Q05, Changan plans to distribute the compact electric SUV under Deepal brand in Nepal.

The company plans to launch the new SUV by the first quarter of 2026, while test drives are scheduled to begin within the next six months.

The SUV will be available in two battery options, 40.3 kWh and 51.9 kWh, with a CLTC range of 405 km and 506 km, respectively. While the Q05 is available in international markets with a 120 kW motor, the Nepali version will feature a motor with peak power below 100 kW due to government tax regulations.

According to Changan, the compact SUV follows the “Digital Wing 2.0” design language. It features an attractive headlamp design, a LIDAR sensor on the roof, a single tailgate unit and numerous modern amenities.
