Dongfeng’s Forthing Friday arrives in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Laxmi E-Mobility, the official distributor for Dongfeng’s new passenger brand Forthing, has revealed the prices for the all-electric Forthing Friday.

According to the company, the compact SUV will be available in two variants: the Luxury variant costing Rs 5.696 million and the Executive variant priced at Rs 6.296 million.

The company plans to launch both variants starting next month from a new showroom currently under construction in Naxal. The first batch of vehicles has already arrived at the Rasuwagadhi customs yard, according to an official of Laxmi E-Mobility.

Built on the SX5G-EV platform, the Forthing Friday combines sleek design, advanced technology, safety features and an impressive driving range. Measuring 4,600 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, with a 2,715 mm wheelbase, Forthing Friday offers a top speed of 180 km/h and is powered by a 99 kW electric motor delivering 340 Nm of torque.

The car features a 64.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, providing a CLTC range of up to 400 km. The battery can be fully charged in 5.5 hours using an 11 kW AC charger, while it can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 35 minutes with a 120 kW DC fast charger.

The Forthing Friday comes loaded with premium features, including a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch sports tires, leather seats, dual 10.25-inch screens with the Intelligent 4.0 Future Link system and a crystal gear knob. The Luxury variant features seat with electric adjustments, memory settings and ventilation/heating as well as seat massage function. The Executive variant has additional features like a 360-degree camera, front parking radar, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and an electric tailgate.

Safety features in Forthing Friday include six airbags, ABS, EBD, HBA, ASR, ESP, hill assist, steep slope descent, automatic parking, tire pressure monitoring system, blind-spot detection, front collision warning and an intelligent braking system by Bosch.

It also features an automatic disconnection and unlock system which activates during collisions to enhance passenger safety.
