Jupiter110 and Chetak electric launching soon in Nepal

KATHMANDU: As the Nepali New Year 2082 kicks off, major two-wheeler brands are gearing up to introduce new models in the domestic market.

Bajaj and TVS are set to launch two new two-wheelers electric and petrol scooter in coming weeks.

Bajaj is introducing its first electric scooter, Chetak, in the Nepali market. Bajaj will sell Chetak from its new showroom in Naxal, which is currently under construction.

Similarly, TVS is preparing for the launch of its updated Jupiter 110 scooter. With testing on Nepali roads already complete, the new Jupiter 110 is set to be launched within a few days.

Here we present specifications of the three bikes:

TVS Jupiter 110

Jagdamba Motors, the official distributor of TVS in Nepal, is set to launch the updated Jupiter 110 in the domestic market in the near future.

Officials of Jagdama Motors say the scooter will go on sale within a few days.

The new model features several styling and feature upgrades over its predecessor. Design changes include a sleeker profile, front-mounted LED DRLs and integrated rear brake lights with turn indicators. The scooter introduces a ‘Follow Me’ LED display for the first time, which remains lit for a few seconds after the scooter is turned off.

Other enhancements include a digital instrument cluster with voice assist and connected features, a front-positioned fuel cap for convenient refueling and ample boot space that can accommodate two half-face helmets.

The new Jupiter 110 is powered by a 113cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine, two-valve engine delivering 8 hp at 6,500 rpm and 9.2 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.

Bajaj Chetak Electric

HH Bajaj plans to launch the Bajaj Chetak in the Nepali market after the Pulsar N125 goes on sale.

A dedicated Chetak showroom in Naxal is nearing completion in preparation for the official rollout of this electric bike.

The Nepali market will receive the same Chetak 3501 and 3502 models recently launched in India. In India, the price of the scooter starts from 120,000 Indian rupees.

The scooter is equipped with a 3.5 kWh battery, which, according to the company, offers a range of 153 km. Battery placement on the floorboard provides more boot space in the Chetak Electric.

Premium features in the bike include a TFT touchscreen display, smartphone connectivity, music and navigation controls, and a sleek, minimalist design.
