KATHMANDU: India’s largest automobile company, Maruti Suzuki, has unveiled its second midsize compact SUV — the Victoris.

Launched in six variants, the Victoris is Maruti Suzuki’s first SUV equipped with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). According to the company, it will be positioned between Brezza and Grand Vitara.

The company had earlier introduced the Grand Vitara in 2023 as its first midsize SUV. The newly revealed Victoris draws design inspiration from Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV — the e Vitara.

The Victoris is 4,360 mm long, 1,655 mm wide and 1,795 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.

It features chunky LED headlamps connected by a chrome strip and a silver skid plate on the lower bumper. It has 18-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars, silver roof rails and squared-off body cladding. At the rear, it sports an LED light bar, stylish taillights and “Victoris” badging.

The Victoris will directly compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser, MG Astor and Honda Elevate.

Inside, the Victoris is equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, digital driver display and a three-spoke steering wheel. Other highlights include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, eight-way powered and ventilated front seats, 64-color ambient lighting, connected car tech, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger head-up display, and powered tailgate.

For safety, the SUV has features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, brake assist, hill-hold control, 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring system and Level 2 ADAS. The Victoris has earned a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, according to Maruti Suzuki.

Under the hood, it comes with two petrol engine options also found in the Grand Vitara: a 1.5-liter four-cylinder mild-hybrid and a 1.5-liter three-cylinder strong-hybrid. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed torque-converter automatic and e-CVT. Buyers can opt for either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations.

The Victoris will directly compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser, MG Astor and Honda Elevate.

Maruti Suzuki, however, has kept pricing under the wraps.
