KATHMANDU: German luxury carmaker Mercedes has revealed images of its latest electric concept racing car, the AMT GT XX.
The concept vehicle, part of the AMG GT lineup, features powerful electric motors on both the front and rear axles. The combined output of these motors is 1,360 horsepower, which allows the car to achieve a top speed of 360 km/h, according to the company.
Mercedes has equipped the GT XX with a 114 kWh NMC battery pack, capable of supporting DC charging speeds of up to 850 kW, making it one of the fastest-charging EVs in its class. Mercedes has claimed that the car can get a range of up to 400 km with just a five-minute charge.
Another standout innovation in the car is the adaptive moving blade wheels, which automatically open to cool the brakes when necessary. The vehicle is equipped with 21-inch wheels.
The car’s drag coefficient is limited to just 0.198, reflecting its track-focused engineering. While the front features a Panamericana grille with 10 vertical slats, the rear sports an MBUX LED light panel embedded with 700 configurable RGB LEDs for dynamic lighting effects.
The interior is designed with a hypercar aesthetic, finished in an attractive orange and black color scheme. The vehicle includes carbon fiber bucket seats, combining comfort with racing performance.
