KATHMANDU: The electric SUV MG IM6 is expected to launch in India around October 2026, according to Indian media reports. The model will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) and sold through MG’s premium MG Select retail channel.
The IM6 electric SUV was first showcased in India at the Auto Expo 2025. It is expected to be positioned below the luxury MG M9 MPV in MG’s global product lineup.
The IM6 features a crossover-style body with a coupe-like roofline and an aerodynamic exterior design. Inside, the SUV comes with a large 26.3-inch horizontal display and a 10.5-inch central touchscreen.

The electric SUV is also equipped with an advanced LiDAR-based driver assistance system, supporting enhanced autonomous driving functions.
Built on an 800-volt architecture, the MG IM6 supports DC fast charging and will be offered in two powertrain configurations. The rear-wheel-drive variant produces up to 402 BHP, while the all-wheel-drive version delivers a peak output of 767 BHP.
Both variants are powered by a 100 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 555 km on a single charge.

Globally, the IM6 competes with premium electric SUVs such as the Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6.
In Nepal, the IM6 is already available through Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG Motor vehicles in the country. The model is currently sold as part of MG’s premium electric vehicle lineup in Nepal.
