Riddara 4WD electric pickup truck now on Nepali roads

KATHMANDU: CG Motors has officially launched the all-wheel drive variant of Riddara RD-6 electric pickup truck in the Nepali market. Riddara is a sub-brand under the Chinese automobile behemoth Geely.

The company unveiled the vehicle’s pricing and launched its test drive program at Hattiban Resort a few days ago. Built for the rugged terrains, the Riddara 4WD comes in three variants: the base model, a sunroof variant, and a dual-tone sunroof variant. The base model is priced at Rs 7,999,000, the sunroof variant at Rs 8,199,000 and the dual-tone sunroof variant at Rs 8,299,000.

According to the company, this electric pickup is designed to carry up to 750 kg of cargo in the rear bed and comfortably seat five passengers in the cabin. The interior features a dual-tone dashboard with a 14.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch display, a panoramic sunroof, six airbags and eight speakers. Other amenities include a brown-themed interior and wireless phone charging. The vehicle delivers SUV-like comfort in a pickup form.

For safety, the Riddara comes equipped with ADAS 2.0 (Advanced Driver Assistance System). All seats are ventilated and can be adjusted into a bed mode for enhanced comfort.

In terms of performance, the pickup can haul up to 1,000 kg. It features a dual-motor setup: a 115 kW motor in the front and a 200 kW motor at the rear, delivering a combined output of 315 kW and a peak torque of 595 Nm in all-wheel drive mode.

Under the hood, the RD-6 houses a 73 kWh IP68-rated LFP battery. It boasts an NEDC range of 424 km and a WLTP range of 356 km. During Mero Auto’s test drive, the pickup truck achieved a real-world range of approximately 310 to 320 km.
