KATHMANDU: The updated Jaecoo J6T is set to launch in the Nepali market next week. The model is an upgraded version of the existing J6, introduced by Chery’s new energy brand Jaecoo.

SPG Automobiles, the official distributor of Omoda/Jaecoo in Nepal, plans to start sales at the beginning of the upcoming week. The key update in the J6T is increased ground clearance, now rated at 225 mm, up from 200 mm in the previous model.

This update aligns with growing demand among Nepali buyers for higher ground clearance in electric vehicles. Along with this, the company has made cosmetic changes to the exterior.

The front grille design has been revised, and the overall dimensions have also been updated. The SUV measures 4,433 mm in length, 1,916 mm in width, and 1,741 mm in height.

For off-road capability, the J6T offers a 27-degree approach angle and a 31-degree departure angle.

The SUV continues with the same 65.69 kWh battery pack. It features a rear-wheel-drive setup with a 135 kW electric motor.

In terms of design, the model uses full LED lighting and comes with a rear-mounted external storage box. It also gets 19-inch wheels, giving it a more rugged appearance.

The Jaecoo J6T comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated seats, dual-zone climate control, a 15.6-inch infotainment system, a 9.2-inch instrument cluster, and a wireless charger.

In terms of safety and driver assistance, it includes a 360-degree camera, electric parking brake, six airbags, camera-based Level 2 ADAS, vehicle stability control, and front and rear parking sensors. The company has not yet announced the official price, but it is expected to be close to the current J6 pricing.
