KATHMANDU: BYD’s premium brand Denza is set to make its official entry into the Nepali market in May. Cimex Inc, the authorized distributor of BYD in Nepal, will also handle sales of Denza vehicles in the country.
According to Cimex Inc CEO Sahil Shrestha, the showroom for Denza has already been completed. The company is preparing for the official brand launch within the next few days, while product announcements may take a little longer.
Cimex has prepared a dedicated Denza showroom at Naxal, Narayanchoor. The new facility is located close to the existing BYD showroom.

Denza was originally established in 2010 as a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz. In 2022, BYD increased its ownership stake and began expanding the brand with a new identity.
Alongside the Denza D9 MPV, the company is also preparing to introduce the Denza B5 Plug-in Hybrid SUV in Nepal. The B5 is expected to target buyers looking for a premium and luxury SUV.
The Denza B5 is available in two variants. The Dynamic variant measures 4,888 mm in length, while the Premium variant is 4,921 mm long. Both variants are 1,970 mm wide and come with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. Height differs slightly, with the Dynamic at 1,920 mm and the Premium at 1,930 mm. The Dynamic gets 18-inch wheels, while the Premium comes with 20-inch wheels.
Powering the B5 is a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine producing around 181 hp and 260 Nm of torque. It is paired with BYD’s DMO plug-in hybrid system and a 31.8 kWh LFP Blade Battery.

With a full tank and full charge, the B5 claims a combined driving range of around 780 to 850 km. In EV-only mode, it can travel around 80 to 100 km.
The SUV comes with an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) setup. Combined output from the front and rear motors reaches around 425 kW. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.
Nepal’s premium SUV segment is growing steadily. With its luxury styling, off-road capability and plug-in hybrid technology, the Denza B5 could attract buyers looking for something different in the market.
