KATHMANDU: Jagdamba Motors, the authorized distributor of TVS in Nepal, is preparing to launch the TVS Orbiter electric scooter in the Nepali market. The company has already started road testing the scooter at multiple locations across the country, with the launch expected after the testing phase is completed.
While Jagdamba Motors has not announced an official launch date, industry sources indicate that the scooter could make its Nepal debut at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo scheduled for August.
The TVS Orbiter is available in India with two battery options: 1.8 kWh and 3.1 kWh. It is yet to be confirmed whether both variants will be offered in Nepal.

The 1.8 kWh version offers a claimed IDC range of 86 km, while the larger 3.1 kWh battery delivers up to 158 km on a single charge. The batteries are rated IP67 for water and dust resistance. Charging from 0 to 80 percent takes around 2 hours 20 minutes for the smaller battery and 4 hours 10 minutes for the larger pack.
Power comes from a 2.5 kW peak BLDC rear hub motor, enabling a top speed of 68 km/h.
The scooter is equipped with a color LCD instrument cluster with TVS Connect app support, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, live location tracking, over-the-air updates, hill hold assist, anti-theft protection, crash alerts, cruise control, regenerative braking, motor cut-off technology, multiple riding modes, reverse mode, reverse parking assist and a USB charging port. It also features an all-LED lighting setup with LED DRLs.

The Orbiter has 165 mm of ground clearance, a flat floorboard, flat seat, alloy wheels, tubeless tires, drum brakes, telescopic front suspension, dual rear shock absorbers and a 34-liter under-seat storage compartment.
TVS currently sells the iQube electric scooter in Nepal. The arrival of the Orbiter will expand the brand’s electric two-wheeler portfolio and offer buyers another affordable EV option.
