KATHMANDU: Premium electric vehicles are growing in Nepal. Sales of EVs continue to rise. Following BMW, BYD will introduce its premium sub-brand, Denza, in Nepal.
Cimex Inc., the authorized BYD distributor, will bring Denza vehicles to the market. The first model will be the Denza D9. It is a seven-seat premium MPV. Since its launch in August 2022, the D9 has sold over 300,000 units globally.
For Nepal, only the fully electric version will be available. The model is currently being tested on Nepali roads. Official sales will start from English New Year 2026. Cimex has opened a dedicated Denza showroom in Naxal, Kathmandu.

In China, the D9 comes in hybrid and fully electric versions, priced between USD 42,000 and 72,000. Nepal will get the battery-electric variant. It has a 103.36 kWh LFP battery with BYD’s Blade technology. The range is 520 km for FWD and 480 km for AWD.
The cabin is premium. It has a 15.6-inch center display, a 10.25-inch instrument panel, a head-up display, and a rear passenger screen. Seats have multimode massage. Connectivity features are advanced.
The D9 has 230 kW (FWD) and 275 kW (AWD) motors. It measures 5,250 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, and 1,920 mm high. The wheelbase is 3,110 mm. It is spacious and well-equipped for Nepali buyers.
