KATHMANDU: French startup Cixi is working on a new kind of vehicle called the Vigoz. It is a mix of a bicycle, motorcycle and electric car.

The three-wheeled trike can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h and is legal to drive on public roads. Riders can pedal while staying fully dry inside its enclosed cabin.

The Vigoz has two wheels at the front and one at the back. It uses an active tilting system for better balance. The body is fully enclosed, keeping riders dry and protected from the weather. It also comes with LED lights, wipers and side doors. A small cargo space at the rear can carry light loads.

Inside, the Vigoz has seats for two people. Both seats come with seat belts and there is a child seat mount at the back. Instead of a steering wheel, it uses handlebars with built-in brakes, keeping its bicycle roots.

Cixi says the Vigoz is designed to last at least 15 years. It has a strong chassis, replaceable panels, easy-to-fix parts and even software updates.

The vehicle is still in development. A working prototype with a final design is yet to be built before production starts in France.
