KATHMANDU: Yamaha has unveiled an electric version of the Aerox called the Aerox-E. The scooter has a certified range of 106 km in India.
The Aerox-E comes with a pair of 1.5 kWh removable batteries that use ‘high energy type cells’. The battery powers an electric motor that produces 9.5 kW and 48 Nm of torque.
The Aerox-E looks identical to the regular Aerox. It features dual LED headlamps and a TFT instrument console with app-based connectivity. The scooter offers multiple riding modes: Eco, Standard, Power, and an additional Boost mode that can be used while overtaking.
The suspension setup has been carried over from the ICE version and includes a telescopic fork at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends.
So far, Yamaha has only showcased the Aerox-E, and its launch date in India is still unknown.
