KATHMANDU: Mercedes-Benz has introduced a major update for the Mercedes-Benz EQS, offering improved range, faster charging, and new steering technology.
The updated EQS now uses an 800V electrical architecture with a larger 122 kWh battery pack in most variants. The EQS 450+ delivers a WLTP range of up to 926 km, marking a significant improvement in efficiency.
Charging performance has also been upgraded, with support for DC fast charging up to 350 kW. Mercedes claims up to 320 km of range can be added in 10 minutes under standard conditions.

The lineup includes EQS 400, EQS 450+, EQS 500 4Matic, and EQS 580 4Matic variants. Power outputs range from 362 hp in the base model to 577 hp in the range-topping version. All models feature a two-speed transmission for improved acceleration and efficiency.
A key update is the introduction of steer-by-wire technology with a yoke-style steering option. The system allows a 270-degree steering lock for easier low-speed maneuvering. A conventional steering wheel remains available.

Design updates include a revised front fascia with a blacked-out grille featuring star patterns and new headlights with signature DRLs.
Inside, the EQS gets the latest MB.OS system and MBUX Virtual Assistant, along with the hyper screen and updated rear entertainment displays.
Mercedes-Benz has not confirmed global launch timelines, but the updated EQS will continue as the brand’s flagship EV alongside future S-Class models.
