BUTWAL : MeroAuto.com has organized a discussion on the opportunities and challenges facing the automobile industry in the Butwal and Bhairahawa region, one of Lumbini Province’s key commercial hubs.

The program was held under the ‘MeroAuto Ground Reality’ series. It brought together local automobile entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders to discuss the issues affecting the regional market.

Organized in collaboration with NADA Lumbini, the discussion highlighted several concerns impacting the automotive business.

Most speakers said the open Nepal-India border has intensified competition for local businesses. They also pointed to the lack of infrastructure needed to support rapidly evolving automotive technologies.

Participants said the inability to strengthen public transport, the inflow of illegally imported spare parts through border areas, and the growing trend of customers crossing into India for vehicle servicing and parts replacement have affected business in the local market.

They also stressed the need to address the new challenges emerging with the growing adoption of new energy vehicles in Nepal.

The full discussion with industry representatives can be watched in the video above.
