KATHMANDU: While many infrastructure projects in Nepal face repeated delays, a motorable bridge in Gorkha has been completed significantly ahead of schedule.
The Chukti Khola motorable bridge, located at Sera in Palungtar Municipality-9, has been completed in just six months, despite a contractual timeline of 18 months.
According to the Infrastructure Development Office, Gorkha, the contract for the bridge was awarded in July 2025 with a completion target of 18 months. The project was undertaken by Amrit Construction at a contract value of Rs 34.142 million.
The bridge measures 20 meters in length and 8.40 meters in width. With construction now complete, local residents of Palungtar Municipality are expected to benefit from improved year-round road connectivity and easier vehicle movement across the Chukti Khola.
Officials say the early completion sets a positive example at a time when many public infrastructure projects continue to face cost overruns and deadline extensions.
