KATHMANDU: The curtain may have fallen on NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo, but excitement is already turning to the 2025 NADA Auto Show which begins next week.
The 17th edition of the auto show, which is organized by the NADA Automobiles Association Nepal, begins at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall from August 19. According to the organizers, this year’s Auto Show will feature many new attractions. Visitors can expect everything from flying cars to humanoid and animal robots. The flying car alone is expected to draw large crowds of automobile and technology enthusiasts at the Auto Show.
Over a dozen new car models will be unveiled at the show. There will also be several launches in the motorcycle and light commercial vehicle segments as well.
Changan is presenting the Lumin, the most affordable electric mini car, at the show. It will compete with the likes of Kaiyi e-Qute 02 and e-Qute 04, MG Comet and Dongfeng’s Mini EV.
Two major Indian brands will reveal their flagship electric SUVs at the Auto Show. Tata will showcase the Harrier EV, while Maruti Suzuki will launch the eVitara.
Since eVitara happens to be first ever electric offering from Suzuki, CG MotoCorp, the which represents Suzuki in Nepal, is very enthusiastic about participation in the Auto Show. The Tata Harrier EV, positioned as a real off-roader, is also highly anticipated by Nepali buyers.

Similarly, Chinese company Changan is presenting the Lumin, the most affordable electric mini car, at the show. It will compete with the likes of Kaiyi e-Qute 02 and e-Qute 04, MG Comet and Dongfeng’s Mini EV.
Changan’s new energy vehicle brand, Deepal, is also launching its mid-size SUV S05 at the Auto Show. Deepal, which has made a strong impression in the premium segment with the S07, will now compete in the highly contested mid-size SUV market with the S05. The S05’s advanced technology and futuristic design have sparked curiosity about its price.

For price-conscious buyers, Dongfeng and BYD are introducing two compact SUVs. The upcoming Nammi 06 and Atto 2 are expected to compete closely. It will be interesting to see their pricing strategy in the crowded compact SUV segment.
GAC Aion, a well-known Chinese brand that has underperformed in the Nepali market, is eyeing a turnaround with its entry-level model – the UT hatchback.
Similarly, LS Auto is planning to launch two models at the show to demonstrate the company’s credibility and reassure buyers amid market rumors. In the premium hatchback segment, LS Auto will debut the LEV 05, followed by the all-wheel-drive LEV X.
Likewise, GAC Aion, a well-known Chinese brand that has under-performed in the Nepali market, is eyeing a turnaround with its entry-level model – the UT hatchback. The UT’s competitive pricing could appeal to many buyers.
The most premium offering at the NADA Auto Show will be the Xpeng X9 MPV which is certain to turn heads.

Another Chinese automobile major, Geely, is unveiling the Galaxy E5 SUV at the Auto Show. The rebadged version of this car, produced in Malaysia by Proton, the eMas 7, is already available in the Nepali market.
Prices of these new models are expected to range from Rs 2 million to more than Rs 15 million.
